Dawn Dalee (Barnum) Meyer was born February 3, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to Rev. Robert Clayton and Ella May Barnum. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 15, 2022, peacefully at home. Her husband, Douglas, and daughter, Autumn, were at her side. Dawn was 81 years old.

Dawn pursued many interests, her talents were too numerous to mention, but she loved to read, play tennis and ice skate, with music being her passion, playing and teaching piano throughout her life.

She graduated from Petoskey High School in Petoskey, Michigan and went to LIFE Bible College in 1959 in Los Angeles, to pursue Bible Education and further her music career.

During WWII, Dawn’s parents moved to Sylacauga, AL and Baltimore, MD when her father was a chaplain in the Army. Following the war they moved back to Petoskey, then on to Alma, MI, Rheca, MI, eventually returning to the LA area.

Dawn and Doug were married November 29, 1963 in Wickenburg, AZ. They resided in Bell, CA, Fairbury, NE, Mt. Vernon, OH, Vinton, IA, before settling in Kenosha, WI where they ministered for 27 years as pastors of the Lighthouse Foursquare, as well as the Genesis House ministry for pregnant women. They also pastored in Ottumwa, IA. In their retirement years they lived in New Castle, IN, ministering at the Foursquare Church, Guest House, DIVE at School and Foster Grandparent Program.

She was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend, and was loved by everyone she met.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Douglas; son, Jeffrey (Lisa); daughter, Camaryn; daughter, Autumn (Jim); son, Andrew (Holly). She and Douglas have 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings, many cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle with Pastor Jim Becker and Rev. Jim Cecil officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of the celebration Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
