David L. King Sr. age 89, of Connersville, passed away on December 14, 2022 at Reid Hospital in Richmond Indiana. Born, December 30, 1932 in Dearborn County, Indiana to the late John W. and Virgie King.

On March 24th of 1951, he married the love of his life, Wilma L. (Zulager) King. They enjoyed 72 years of life, love, and marriage together.

David work for 30 years at Visteon, formerly known as Ford Motor in Connersville Indiana. He retired in 1994. David and his wife Wilma then began to live out their retirement in Florida. Residing in Florida from 1994 until 2014 when they moved back to Connersville to be near family.

David loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed wood working and made several pieces for his family. This was a hobby he shared with his son David King Jr. Another hobby of his was to work in his garden. He took great pride in his tomato plants. You would find him daily tending to his garden.

David volunteered with the Civil Defense Services of Connersville in the 1970’s to later in the 1980’s. He loved to work the games at the Spartan Bowl.

Those that will love and cherish memories the most are his daughter, Diane (Darrell) Hobbs. He is also survived by a sister, Betty McQueen, a brother, Kenneth (Earlene) King, a sister-in-law, Carol King. His memories will also be cherished by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David is proceeded in death by his wife, Wilma L. King, a son, David L. King Jr., a grandson, John W. Hobbs, a brother, John W. King Jr, brother-in-law Loren McQueen and a step-father, Ralph Jones.

Urban Winkler has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

There will be a private graveside service in Bright Indiana with the family on Wednesday December 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
