Cecil Barlow, 85, of Connersville, passed away Tuesday December 14, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond. He was born on March 5, 1937 in Crewe, Virginia, to the late Mason and Ruby Barlow.
After graduating from high school Cecil enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country for nearly 30 years. His highest ranking was honorably an E7 Chief Petty Officer.
December 15, 1995 Cecil married the love of his life Gladys Bates Barlow. They were able to celebrate 13 years of marriage prior to her passing on June 15, 2009.
After Cecil’s retirement from the Navy he participated in organizations such as being a life member at the VFW Auxillary, and he was a former member of the American Legion, and AmVets.
Cecil enjoyed relaxing while casting a fishing line during his down time and spending time with his friends.
Cecil’s memories will be cherished forever by his sons Mike (Kathy) Barlow, and Ryan (Melissa) Payton. He will be thought of often by 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 13 years Gladys, his parents, and his brothers Wayne and Gene Barlow.
A memorial service in honor of Cecil will be held at a later date. Urban Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville.
