Carol Clara Schlichte Teebay, 80, of Connersville, passed away Tuesday morning, November 8, 2022 at Hickory Creek Healthcare.

She was born April 17, 1942 in Connersville, one of ten children of Norman and Rita Geier Schlichte, and she was a 1960 graduate of Connersville High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University and earned a certification as a nurse practitioner from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1963. Following graduation, she continued her nurse practitioner career in Indianapolis, Denver, and San Francisco.

In April 1984, she married George Teebay and they lived in Oakland, California for many years. Carol became a very successful real estate broker for Pacific Union, now known as Compass Realty, earning designation as top selling broker for several years in succession.

Carol moved back to Indiana in May of 2021 to be near her family for health reasons.

She was a member of St. Gabriel Church while living in Indiana and St. Jarlath Church in Oakland, California.

Carol loved traveling the world with her husband and members of her family.

Other than her husband, survivors include two sisters, Eleanor Rutishauser of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jeanie (Richard) Gronning of Connersville; four brothers, Robert (Kathryn) Schlichte of Connersville, Michael (Debbie) Schlichte of Sugarland, Texas, Dennis (Jackie) Schlichte of Richmond, Indiana, and Anthony (Melanie) Schlichte of McCordsville, Indiana; her godchildren, Brian Rutishauser and Megan Schlichte; a brother-in-law, John Robison of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-law, Sharron Schlichte of Connersville and Jill Schlichte of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Robison, and two brothers, Bill and Gary Schlichte.

Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church where the rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carol to St. Gabriel Catholic Church or the Fayette County Humane Society.
