Carey Lane Irvin, age 64, went home to be with our Lord & Savior on December 1, 2022.  He was born August 15, 1958, in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Dollie S. Irvin and Warner Irvin, Sr.

Carey lived in Richmond, Indiana, most of his life and was a member of Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of The Voices of Peace Choir, Usher Board, and was on the Christmas dinner committee. He enjoyed dancing, singing, and talking to any and everybody because nobody was a stranger to Carey. He went to Richmond High School and then went to Green Acres. He volunteered at Reid Hospital and helped around the community. He also loved to eat.

Carey leaves to cherish his memory, one brother: Warner “Bo” Irvin, Jr. of Richmond, Indiana; one niece: Phyllisa Irvin of Lexington, Kentucky: one uncle, Donald Morse Henson of Richmond, Indiana: and four cousins; Tashana Burroughs, Chanell Felix, Zyterrious Foster and Ny’ah Burroughs. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins: Nancy Hogg and Terrance Hogg.

Carey was preceded in death by his mother: Dollie Irvin, father: Warner Irvin, Sr., grandparents, aunts and uncles, and a special aunt: Linda Burroughs.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Community Family Funeral Home, Help At Home and Reid Health Hospital.
