Braxton Wayne Gibson, 13, of Connersville, earned his wings Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Riley Hospital for Children. He is now an angel in the outfield.

He was born May 15, 2009 to Brandon Michael and Misha Lyn Suggs Gibson. He currently attended Connersville Middle School.

Braxton’s passion was playing baseball. A talented athlete, he played for the Indiana Crushers throughout the Midwest. He also enjoyed the Connersville Recreational League and training at Line Drives in Rushville. Braxton had the opportunity to play in the Game Day USA All Star Tournament, where he was selected to play in the Junior All American Games. He will be greatly missed by his teammates and coaches who endearingly called him “Cheesy”. He was the homerun hitter of the team. An all-around MVP, he could play any position with excellence. Not only was he a great ball player, but he was a helpful team player, always taking time out of his own training to help his teammates. He will always be remembered as a great role model, having touched many lives.

When he wasn’t playing baseball, Braxton loved hunting, fishing, and making his own fishing lures. He had also recently enjoyed playing CMS football.

Along with his family, he attended New Freedom Church where Reverend Dustin Gay pastors.

Honorably, Braxton saved lives as an organ donor. For this, he was a hero.
