Billy Dan Farmer, age 85, of New Paris, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Born February 7, 1937, in Corbin, Kentucky, to William and Vinnie Begley Farmer, Billy had lived in this area for over 60 years. He was a tow motor operator at Richmond Gear. Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a beekeeper, and raised goats, chickens, and horses. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Dolores Kay Hughes Farmer, to whom he was married August 27, 1960; sons, Jim (Linda) Farmer of Tipp City, Ohio and Billy Ray (Theresa Ann) Farmer of Centerville, Indiana; eight grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Burgess, Jack, and Floyd Farmer; and sisters, Annabell Brumback and Norma Sue Collinsworth.
Visitation for Billy Dan Farmer will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Monohan officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio.
