Bev Dale of Richmond passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at her home. Bev was born April 29, 1936, in Hagerstown to William Kermit and Dorothy Smith Leavell. Bev married Donald Dale on August 19, 1956, in the Congregational Christian Church of Hagerstown. She was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Ball State University.
She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church, Hartley Hills Country Club for more than 50 years, and the Hagerstown Loyal Order of the Eastern Star. She owned two flower shops and retired as a florist.
Her family was her greatest passion, joy, and delight. Even though she didn’t see them as often as she liked they are the love of her life. She is so proud of them all. Plus her little dog Abby. She enjoyed gardening, and knitting, and loved painting, but never considered herself an artist.
Bev is survived by her beloved son Kermit “Mark” (Julie) Dale of Noblesville, and three grandchildren Riley Donald, Reagan “Princess”, and Reece William Dale. Her husband Dale died November 28, 2010, and she is preceded in death by her parents Kermit and Dorothy Leavell who both passed away in 1993.
When we get to the end of our lives together, the house, we had, the cars we drove, and the things we possessed won’t matter. What will matter is that I had you Don and you had me.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Bev’s burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
