Bettye Guffee Wells, age 79 of Lenoir City, TN passed away suddenly Thursday, November 17, 2022. She was of the Baptist faith.
Bettye was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for many years for the City of Lenoir City, TN. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and several other ladies groups. Bettye was very social and active in the community. She never met a stranger and was loved by many.
Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bob Wells; parents, Fred and Gladys Guffee; brothers, Freddie Guffee and Bob Guffee (Glenda); sister-in-law, Ann Ingram and nephews, Travis Wheeler and Joseph A. Guffee.
Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Becky Wells of Centerville, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Wes Nokes of Powell; grandchildren: Evan Wells of Centerville, IN and Paige Wells of Arlington, VA, Garrett Nokes and Jaden Nokes of Powell; great grandson, James Wells; sister-in-law, Sandy Goodwin (Bill) of Centerville, IN; many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bettye’s life will be held from 1-3 Sunday, November 20th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. A private interment will be held in the New Providence Cemetery. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City, TN is in charge of arrangements
