Bertha Elnora (Stone) Kidd, age 87, resident of New Castle, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at her residence. She was born January 19, 1935, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a daughter of William and Edith (Stephens) Stone.
Bertha was a homemaker and loved cooking. She would never let anyone go hungry. She enjoyed doing puzzles and loved watching preachers on tv. Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bertha was always on the phone checking in on family whom she loved dearly. She attended the Brown Road Church of God in New Castle.
She is survived by two children, Duane Kidd and Elaine Wilkinson; a granddaughter, Hannah (Robert Guffey) Wilkinson; six great-grandchildren, Koty Wilkinson (Casey), Daliya Guffey, Jayman Hernandez, Lilly Guffey, Lexi Hernandez, Reagan Guffey; one great-great-grandchild, Luka Castellon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kidd in 2005 and seven siblings.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Rose City Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., with Pastor Alan Polston officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
