Dublin Community Club has begun a new fundraising campaign for some large projects.

“Keeping the Dublin Community Club open has been an absolute wonderful adventure so far and we are looking to keep adding to the amazing improvements,” said Jimmy Lawrence, board president.

Lawrence said the nonprofit’s board would like to get a few more projects started as soon as possible to improve the quality of the community center for visitors who come for skating nights or private parties.

The desired projects include refinishing the skate floor and redoing its ceiling area, replacing some light fixtures and installing new carpet in the entry, lounge and concessions areas.

A $12,000 goal has been set for the project. Donations may be made at https://gofund.me/7554edc8 or via mail at P.O. Box 313, Dublin, IN 47335.

Volunteers are taking a break from hosting open skate nights for the summer, but are still renting the building at 177 S. Milton St. for events.

They also are planning a Summer Community Bash from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. July 29 at the club and Wilson Park featuring live music, grilled food, indoor and outdoor activities, and sweet treats.

The skating rink will be open that night from 6-9 p.m. for $5 per person.
