Centerville-Abington Community Schools conducted a special meeting Aug. 2 to finalize hires, bus driver contracts and other remaining items before schools open.

Superintendent Mike McCoy introduced Daniel Addington as a new special education teacher at Centerville Senior High School.

The board also approved these personnel changes:

Pending hires: Ciara Hanes, junior high Bulldog Connections Lab; MaKayla Wert, permanent junior/senior high substitute

Resignations: Jessica Cloud, CAE special education aide; Chayil Gindling, permanent substitute

Volunteers: Jamie Brummett, swim team; Hunter Pruitt, girls soccer team; DeAndre Williamson, soccer teams; Phyllicia Moore, volleyball team; Paige Hampton, student teacher with Brad Ream

Board members also approved the 2023-24 bus driver contracts, a memorandum of understanding with Centerstone to provide mental health services, a $550 donation from First Bank Richmond for CSHS’ French Club, and applications from transfer students.

At its next meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, the board will begin discussing the first 10 district policies presented by Church Church Hittle + Antrim. The policies could be approved or revised during future meetings.

The Noblesville law firm recently became the district’s new provider of policies.
