Charles K. McGinnis, 90, of New Castle, passed away early on the morning of Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Addison Place in New Castle.
He was born on January 28, 1932, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Fred and Ercelle H. McGinnis.
Following High School Charles joined the US Army and served in the Korean War as a Military Police Officer. He was a Tool Engineer for Chrysler Corporation for 45 years, and following retirement served as a consultant to Metaldyne Corporation.
On August 21, 1965, Charles married Wanda Jones and together they enjoyed almost 55 years of marriage until her death in 2020.
Charles and Wanda were long-time members of the First Christian Church.
He is survived by two step-sons, Stephen A. (Rebecca A. Chappell) Pinkerton of Anderson and Scott J. (Vikki Crawford) Pinkerton of New Castle; a sister, Sheila Jackson of New Castle; three grandchildren, Abbey (Jordan) Walton, Ashley (Greg) Singh, and Andrew Pinkerton, and nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, L. Wanda McGinnis; three sisters, and a brother.
The family will hold a private graveside service with military honors conducted by contingents from the US Army and the Henry County Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be offered to the First Christian Church or Henry County Community Foundation.
