Mary A. Trent, 74, of rural Connersville, passed away Thursday morning, October 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family after courageously battling Parkinson’s Disease for the last 27 years.
Mary was born October 14, 1947 in San Jose, California to Felipe and Manuela Hernandez Acosta. She moved to Benson, Arizona in 1949 with her family and graduated from Benson High School in 1965.
On October 31, 1966, she married Paul Trent in Connersville.
For many years until her retirement, Mary worked as a clerk for Fayette Memorial Hospital. Prior to the hospital, she worked for Philco-Ford.
In her leisure, she enjoyed mushroom hunting, embroidering, and coloring. A sports enthusiast, she loved participating in tennis, softball, volleyball, and bowling. She was also an avid reader. A loving grandmother, she especially enjoyed spending time outdoors with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Trent of Connersville; three daughters, Lisa (Bryan) Lutz, Angela Fitzgerald, and Rachel (Jeff) Clark, all of Connersville; a son, David Trent of Connersville; and ten grandchildren, Matthew (Lysandra) Caldwell, Nathan Caldwell (Lauryn Truesdale), Adam (Courtney) Caldwell, Olivia (Sadler) Kleve, Laila Fitzgerald, Anna (Bryant) Jones, Emily Elliott, all of Connersville, Alexander (Brittney) Fitzgerald of Greenwood, Indiana, Brooklyn (Devon) Durham and Paigan Trent, both of Laurel, Indiana; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Hortencia Samoloff, Raymond Acosta, Leonard Acosta, Phillip Acosta, Juana Acosta, and Margaret Ramierez; and a special caregiver, Kim Lephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jeffry Connaway, who passed away October 16, 2019; and two brothers, Alonzo Acosta and Paul Acosta.
There will be no services. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
