Martha Jean Kitts, 94, of Economy, died Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Reid Health.
She was born in Wayne County on August 4, 1928 to Karl B. and Mary Louise (Anderson) Weyl and was a life long resident of the county. She was a member of Economy United Methodist Church. She work as a bookkeeper at area elevators and at the family business, Kitts Service Station.
Survivors include 3 children, Gary Kitts (Christine) of Venice, FL, Cameron Kitts (Ruth) of Economy and Sharon Jones (Jeffrey) of Richmond; a granddaughter, Stephanie Kitts; 4 sisters, Wilma Moore, Marilyn Fox, Linda Noggle and Rebecca Hawkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kitts and 2 sisters, Patricia Cloud and Mary Jane Weyl.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling. Burial will be in Economy Cemetery.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Economy Cemetery Association.
