Centerville-Abington Community Schools conducted a brief board meeting July 31 to approve some personnel changes and 24 additional transfer students for the new school year.

CACS has planned another special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, for more approvals of personnel and transfer students if needed before its regular 7 p.m. Aug. 14 and 28 board meetings.

Personnel changes

  • New hires: Ashley Tice, Centerville-Abington Elementary special education teacher; Megan Nolte, permanent substitute for Rose Hamilton and CAE
  • Pending hires: Michele Owens, special education teaching assistant; Leslie Spears, high school cafeteria cashier; Alanna Scalzo, district cafeteria sub; Nancy Wood, high school cafeteria sub
  • Transfer: Marissa Thompson, from substitute to high school Bulldog Opportunity Academy
  • Rehire: Richard “Beau” Bryant, special education teaching assistant
  • Volunteer: Nicholas Messer, student teacher
  • Departure: Amanda Miller, special education teaching assistant
