Several organizations are offering services and programs on Memorial Day (Monday, May 27) in cemeteries throughout Wayne and Henry counties to remember those who served in the U.S. military. They include:
- Centerville to Richmond: The ninth annual march begins at 6:30 a.m. at Wayne County Highway Department, 8198 U.S. 40, Centerville, and ends at 11 a.m. in Wayne County Veterans Memorial Park in Richmond. 765-967-0330
- Northwest Wayne County/eastern Henry County: Chicago Corner Church, 7:30 a.m.; Mooreland, 8 a.m.; Brick Church, 8:35 a.m.; Jacksonburg, 9 a.m.; Salem Church, 9:35 a.m.; Greens Fork, 10 a.m.; Sugar Grove, 10:50 a.m.; West River Friends, 11:15 a.m.; West Lawn, 11:45 a.m. Organized by American Legion William O. - Western Wayne County: Dublin South Lawn, 9:30 a.m.; Dublin East, 9:45 a.m.; Capitol Hill (Cambridge City), 10 a.m.; Pershing Lutheran, 10:15 a.m.; Pershing South, 10:30 a.m.; Slaw Hill (Milton), 10:45 a.m.; Milton, 11 a.m.; Riverside (Cambridge City), 11:30 a.m. Services are organized by Lawrence H. - Earlham Cemetery: 9 a.m. Sons of Union Veterans ceremony on Soldier Hill; 10 a.m. service at Field of Honor. Organized by Vietnam Veterans of America. 765-973-9207
- Wayne County Veterans Memorial Park: 11 a.m., just off first block East Main Street, Richmond. It’s connected to the American Veterans Traveling Tribute set up in the park from May 24-27. 765-967-0330

Some Memorial Day weekend highlights at Veterans Memorial Park:
- Indiana Fallen Heroes Display: Noon Friday through Sunday.
- Opening ceremony: 6 p.m. Friday. Patriotic music, invocation, guest speaker and proclamation.
- “Huey” helicopter landing and display, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
- Blood drive: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Register now at DonorTime.com or 937-461-3220.
- Gold Star Families Ceremony: 1 p.m. Saturday. Gold Star mothers and families are asked to call 765-967-0330 for advance details.
- Church service/wall blessing: 10 a.m. Sunday.
