Janis A. Maple, 84, of New Castle passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023. She was born December 6, 1938 in Keno, Kentucky to the late Jennings and Mary (Super) Morrow.
Janis was a devoted mother and marvelous cook. Her family was her world and she loved them unconditionally. In Janis’s earlier years, she loved quilting, had a knack for decorating and enjoyed making floral arrangements.
She is survived by four children, Michael (Teresa) Alexander, Mark Alexander, Michelle (David) Wile and Kelly Guffey (Matt Hillman); grandchildren, Mark J. Alexander, Alyssa Guffey and Tristan Guffey; great grandchildren, Aubrielle and Janisha; a sister, Delana Eid and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Maple; a brother, Ed Morrow and a sister, Faye Brown.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
