Pauline D. Millsaps, age 90, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, January 23, 2023, at Forest Park Health Campus.
Born January 13, 1933, in Horsham, Pennsylvania, to Clarence K. Hagerty and Florence Hillborn Williams Hagerty, Pauline was a long-time resident of this area. She was
a direct descendent of Richard Kenderdine, one of the first Quaker settlers of Horsham Township. Pauline graduated from Hatboro High School in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. She received a bachelor’s degree in Education at Millersville College in Millersville, PA. Pauline was always a teacher at heart. She taught in elementary schools and Sunday School in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland. Being the original DIYer and crafter, she took a job in the activities department of Friends Nursing Home of Sandy Spring, MD once all of her children were in school. After moving to Richmond, Indiana, in 1985, Pauline became the activities director at Golden Rule Nursing Center before retiring in March of 2020, at the age of 87. She was a long-time member of West Richmond Friends Meeting and taught the preschool Sunday School class for many years. Pauline loved being with the young and elderly.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Sheila (David) Nace of Columbia, MD. and Clare (Kevin) Tock of Silver Spring, MD.; son in law Ken (Paula Ruth Petty) Wilhelm of Ijamsville, MD; grandchildren, Ryan Wilhelm, Joe (Lindsay) Petty, Kyle (Aleece) Wilhelm, Daniel (Rachel) Nace, Ben (Anna) Nace, Braedon Tock, Griffin Tock, Ashley Tock; and great grandchildren, Violet Tock, Ginny Wilhelm, Ada Wilhelm, and Jack Petty.
Her circle of love expanded with the marriage to her 2nd husband, George Millsaps, and included his daughters, Mary (Alfred dec.) McKnew, Linda (David) Hyland, Sue Amrine dec, (Bill), Phyllis Watson dec. (Dennis); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren; dear friends; and neighbors Randy and Trudy Hill.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 8 years, George Millsaps; her sisters, Clare Ashley, Anne Hagerty, Mary Degler; and her daughter, Paula Marie Wilhelm.
Burial will be at Horsham Friends Meeting Cemetery in Horsham, PA.
