Robert Arthur Kraay, 83, of Connersville, passed away Wednesday morning, January 11, 2023 at Reid Health, Richmond.
He was born December 14, 1939 in Monticello, Indiana to Robert Edward and Alice M. Hicks Kraay and was a 1958 graduate of Monticello High School.
Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country.
On June 3, 1967, he married Betty Jo Hobaugh in Lafayette. Mrs. Kraay passed away December 21, 2021.
Robert worked as a lab technician for Fayette Memorial Hospital.
In his leisure, he enjoyed sudoku puzzles and mushroom hunting. He was also an avid reader.
Survivors include a brother, William L. (Karen) Kraay of Winslow, Indiana; a sister, Martha J. (Tom) Murdock of Leesburg, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Janice (Paul) Kays, Kristy Murdock, and Beverly (John) Murdock-Dubelko; and great nieces and nephews, Will and Grace Kays and Brandon Armstrong.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Betty Jo Kraay; and a niece, Kathleen Murdock.
