Nancy Lou Edwards, age 83, lifelong resident of New Castle, Indiana passed away peacefully Friday January 6, 2023 surrounded by loving family. She was born April 8, 1939 in New Castle, Indiana, daughter of the late Bryan and Lillie (Eads) Daffron.
She was married to the love of her life, Charles Edwards for 61 years. She attended New Castle Schools. She worked several years at Rest Haven Nursing Home and later was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in New Castle, IN. Nancy loved spending time with her family. She cherished her friends. She loved country music and collecting Angel Figurines. In retirement she loved spending her winters in Florida.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, David Junior Atkins, 1 grandson, Dillon Atkins, 4 brothers, Melvin, Wilbur, Alfred, and Dale Daffron, 6 sisters, Ruth Helms, Reba Davenport, June McGaha, Ruby Devers, Pat Hall, Bessie Forsythe and her mother and father-in-law, Earl & Hazel Edwards.
Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband, Charles, 2 sons, Joe (Sue) Atkins of Dallas, TX, and Jeff Atkins of New Castle, IN and one daughter Shari (David) Spera of New Castle, IN, grandchildren Kirk and Kyle Atkins of Dallas, TX, Brittni (Matt) Friend of Centerville, OH, Jordan (Taylor) Spera of New Palestine, IN, David Atkins of New Castle, IN, Josh (Megan) Atkins of Fort Wayne, Ashley (Tim) Arnold of Union City, IN , 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, one sister, Evelyn Jones of Elko, NV and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
