Catherine Elizabeth Nocton Taylor, 74, passed away at Brickyard Healthcare – Golden Rule Care Center on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
Born on January 14, 1948, Catherine was the daughter of the late Malcolm and June Steinken Nocton. After attending Richmond schools for over 11 years, the family moved to Centerville and she graduated from Centerville High School in 1966. She moved to Abington soon after her marriage to James Lee Taylor on July 11, 1970 and lived there until her move to the nursing home after failing health.
She had many physical struggles here on earth but never let them stop her. She will be remembered for her caring and kindness towards others. She loved nature and especially enjoyed bird watching, animal documentaries and watching westerns. She was the glue held her family together. She was known for her delicious homemade chicken and noodles. She will forever be loved and missed.
She is survived by brother Michael E. (Sandy) Nocton, sisters Susan (John) Brunner and Carol (Andy) Craig, daughters, Rebecca (Don) Tincher and Kimberly (Gary) Jenkins; sons Christopher (Jennifer) Taylor and Michael (Brandi) Taylor; grandchildren Ryan Tincher, Michael Jenkins, Peter Jenkins, Jacob Jenkins, Taylor (Carter) DeWitt, Ian Taylor, Seth Taylor, Jordan (Jessie) McCaslin, Zach (Kristin) McCaslin, A.J. Taylor (fiancé Emma), Alexys Taylor and Aiden Taylor. She also leaves behind an uncle Robert Nocton of Williamsburg, aunt Kako Steinken of California, great-grandchildren, many cousins; nieces; nephews and lifelong friends.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband along with twin sisters Julie and Teresa Nocton and sister Jennifer Nocton.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Friday December 16th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Sengole Ganaraj officiating; burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM Friday at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Reid Hospice and the employees at Brickyard Healthcare – Golden Rule Care Center for the care and love she received, especially Brandi, Anne, Brandy, Tammy and Suzi.
