Elizabeth “Gale” Ramsey, age 65, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born May 17, 1957, in Connersville, Indiana, to Pierce Charles and Gladys Harrison Hammock, Gale was a life-long resident of Richmond. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1975 and was active in bowling and photography. Gale always aspired to be an airline stewardess, and even attended Airline School in Pittsburgh. She then went on to work as a travel agent for many years. Gale also worked at a radio station before starting in the human resource field in the 1990s at First Call Temporary Services. She was employed at West End Bank until 2021, and most recently was the receptionist/customer service representative at First Bank Richmond. She loved Elvis and was a devoted fan.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Ramsey of Richmond, who was lucky enough to marry Gale on September 1, 2000; daughter, Amber (Terry) Klemann of Beacon, New York; son, Justin Ramsey of Richmond; granddaughter, Celia Ramsey; sister, Sherry (Rich) Clippert-deVogel of Detroit, Michigan; brother, Michael (Victoria) Hammock of Richmond; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; in-laws and out-laws; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Norma DeGraw.
Gale had so many friends, was known by so many people, and was loved by all. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation for Elizabeth Gale Ramsey will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Holman officiating.
