Road safety information

Local emergency personnel urge residents not to call 911 or other first responders for road conditions so that communication is open for those needing emergency services.

Update from Connersville Police Department as of Monday at 8:47 a.m.:

We have many vehicles getting stuck, including several emergency vehicles trying to respond to calls. We STRONGLY URGE that you do not travel unless it is emergency travel or mandatory travel.”

Police note the county remains at an orange advisory level and that decision is made by Fayette County commissioners.

Wayne County Emergency Management shared an update Sunday at 5:37 p.m.:

We are fortunate that dry air has kept our snowfall less than those to our south, however heavier snow is on the way and forecasted to fall throughout the night. Blowing and drifting snow will be the issue tomorrow, as wind gusts are forecasted to be near 30mph. If traveling, take your time and use caution. Roadways are snow covered throughout the city and county.
