Dublin and Mount Auburn homes and businesses are without water Tuesday morning, and when their water returns, they’ll need to boil it until at least Friday afternoon for several uses.

The boil advisory, which began at 10 a.m. Tuesday, continues until further notice, according to a social media post by Dublin Town Council president Nathan Ulerick. It’s necessary because of hydrant and valve replacement taking place, Ulerick said.

The work affects all Mount Auburn and Dublin water customers.

One of the locations impacted, Lakeview Restaurant, has announced its plans via social media to remain closed Wednesday and tentatively reopen by 2 p.m. Thursday. Pizza 3.14 is closed Tuesday.

Customers should run water for 5 minutes before use, and boil water for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth. Ice makers should be shut off.

However, bathing and washing dishes should be safe because hot water is used, Ulerick’s post said.

Once samples have come back clear twice, residents will be notified the boil advisory has been lifted. That could occur by approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Updated March 4 at 2:25 p.m. to reflect that the boil advisory is now town-wide in Dublin.
