Richmond’s Emergency Warming Center is a collaborative nonprofit effort led by Oak Park Pentacostals and LifeSpring Church South. Located at 501 S. Seventh St., the center opens when the temperature is 25 degrees or below and has enough volunteers. Entry is from 6-9 p.m. with 20 cots available on a first-come, first-served basis to men, women and families. In addition to a meal, guests are offered other supplies and opportunities to connect to services to improve their condition.
This service is made possible through the work of volunteers and requires the following:
- Volunteers for staffing, setup and teardown
- Donated prepared meals
- Funding to support long-term plan of meeting community needs beyond overnight accommodations
- Donations of various winter clothing and food items
