Those seeking affordable housing in Richmond can apply for the Section 8 housing choice voucher waiting list starting June 2.
Housing Authority of the City of Richmond will accept preliminary applications for the waiting list starting at 12 a.m. Monday, June 2, through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
Applicants must submit the pre-application form and authorization to release information at richmondhousingindiana.org.
Those requiring accommodation for a disability that prevents them from participating in the online application process should submit their request in writing to the Housing Authority of the City of Richmond, Pre-Application at 58 S. 15th St., Richmond, IN 47374. It must include their name, address and phone number.
HACR provides affordable housing to Richmond’s low to moderate-income population. It offers the Public Housing Program (303 units), Housing Choice Vouchers (276 vouchers) and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (12 units). In addition to housing eligible families, HACR seeks to assist those families in becoming economically self-sufficient.
