On Thursday, June 11, Abbott’s Candies welcomed Retail Confectioners International to tour its 48 E. Walnut St., Hagerstown location. Around 200 Chocolatiers from the U.S. and Canada reviewed the establishment to gather inspiration for their own businesses.

Abbott’s has been making candy in Hagerstown since 1890, making it the oldest candy shop in Indiana. Owner Jay Noel and his wife opened an Indianapolis storefront in 1993.

The small-town business has great reach, with products in The Shoppes of East Main, Richmond’s Reid Health and the Indianapolis International Airport. The candies will also be featured during Hagerstown’s Jubilee Days on July 31 and Aug. 1.

The Hagerstown operation is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more details, visit abbottscandy.com.
