Centerville hosted the Tri-Eastern Conference cross country meet on Saturday, Oct 11. All of the TEC schools sent runners for the girls race, but only four ran with complete teams. All TEC schools sent runners for the boys race except Knightstown, but only five had complete teams. To compete as a team, each team must have at least five runners. Most teams enter seven runners, with the top five runners’ finishing place determining the team score.

The boys race was expected to be close and it was, with only nine points separating the top four teams. The Hagerstown Tigers were the team champions. In the girls race, Northeastern was the heavy favorite, but second-place Hagerstown was closer than expected.

The individual champion in the boys race was Tanner Paddock from Union County in a time of 16:21.30. The individual champion in the girls race was Hayden Neagle from Northeastern in a time of 19:14.70. Kinley Puckett, running as an individual from Lincoln, was the second runner to cross the finish line, but because she was running without a team, second place officially went to Aubrey Neagle from Northeastern in determining team scores.
