Artists from six Wayne County high schools submitted over 100 pieces in 10 categories for the Richmond Art Museum’s All Wayne County High School Art Exhibition. The exhibition’s overall winners were Eva Hawk, Gaige Dunkin-Natusch and Luz Soto Serrano, each receiving a prize of $250, $150 and $100, respectively. Centerville senior Hawk earned first place in acrylic/oil painting and mixed media with ”Structured Mutism” and “Man Down Shadowed,” respectively. 

Richmond junior Serrano’s “Dark Ocean” took first place in watercolor painting. Hagerstown senior Amaya Kirby won sculpture with “Decay of Freedom.” Fellow Tiger Ragan Lambert’s “Dinner with Corky Lee” won fine craft, ceramic. 

Northeastern sophomore Annika Pentecost’s “Jefferson Memorial” earned first place in printmaking. Another sophomore, Richmond’s Alina Seifer, won first place in photography for “Caesar.”

In computer-generated art, Centerville senior Elizabeth Nevels won first and second place with “Flux” and “Divine Isolation.” For pencil or ink drawing, senior Bulldog Eva Soper won for her “Writing on the Wall.” Seton senior Dunkin-Natusch’s “Self-Portrait” won first in pastel drawing. 

Admission is free at RAM Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at 350 Hub Etchison Pkwy, in Richmond. Winners were announced Saturday, April 25, and the exhibit is open through May 16.
