On Wednesday, Dec. 5, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Wayne County Coroner’s Office received DNA testing results for remains found this fall in Hagerstown, Ind.
The testing from Indiana State Police Laboratory confirmed the DNA profile originated from Trevan Winterton, who was reported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office as a missing person Aug. 27.
Winterton’s remains were found Oct. 1 in the 15800 block of Turnpike Road in Hagerstown.
The case remains under investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Wayne County Coroner’s Office, according to a press release from Wayne County Sheriff Jeff Cappa.
