Indiana Grown is including Richmond’s Farmers Market in its fourth annual Farmers Market Challenge. Richmond joins 49 other county farmer markets vying for votes to secure the 2026 “Ultimate Farmers Market” statewide title. The winner will be announced Aug. 8, capping off National Farmers Market Week.
Indiana Grown is an initiative from the Indiana State Department of Agriculture that connects Hoosiers with local farmers and retailers to promote buying homegrown products.
“The Indiana’s Ultimate Farmers Market Challenge gives Hoosiers a fun and meaningful way to support their favorite local markets,” said Caroline Patrick, Indiana Grown Program director, in a press release. “Every vote shines a spotlight on the farmers and producers who bring fresh, Indiana-grown products to our communities. Farmers markets help drive local connection and local commerce, and it’s inspiring to see such passionate support from Hoosiers across the state.”
Voting is open through Aug. 5, with one vote per person, per day. Visit indianagrown.org to vote online. To vote in person, stop by Glen Miller Park’s office at 2200 E. Main St. from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Or, visit the market at Jack Elstro Plaza, 47 N. Sixth St., on:

- Tuesday, Aug. 4, 4-7 p.m.
