In a Nov. 20 meeting that lasted barely five minutes, Richmond Common Council covered the basics but deferred action on a potential designated outdoor refreshment area classification for the Depot District, under consideration since September.

The group approved meeting minutes and accepted Anchor Transload LLC as a new taxpayer in the city’s main tax increment financing district. They heard from Mayor Dave Snow about leaf collection, Shop Small Saturday and Thanksgiving wishes. Adjournment quickly followed.

The DORA ordinances were introduced at a Sept. 5 council meeting and would allow alcoholic beverages to be sold and consumed beyond areas typically designated in open container laws. At the council’s Sept. 18 meeting, member Ron Oler said the safety committee was going to take more time with the details before making a recommendation for a vote.

At last week’s meeting, the related ordinances were only listed on the agenda as an “FYI” item, and there were no updates or discussion.
