Connersville High School hosted the IHSAA sectional on Saturday, March 1, involving athletes from 13 schools. The top three teams compiling the highest number of points advanced as teams to the regional round. The top six place finishers in each event advanced to the regional as individuals as well as the top six finishers in the all-around competition. 

The only Wayne County athlete to advance to the regional was Aubrie Irvin from Northeastern High School, who was competing as an individual and placed second in the vault. 

The three advancing teams were New Palestine, New Castle and Connersville. Shelbyville was fourth and Richmond was fifth in the final team standings. 

Richmond placements included:

Addison Amyx 27th in vault and 23rd in bars. 

Valentina Astudillo-Santana 30th in beam.

Madelyn Carter 24th in vault, 20th in bars, tied for 26th in beam, tied for 16th in floor and 17th in all-around.  

Grace Ferriell tied for eighth in vault, 12th on bars, 10th in beam, 13th in floor and 10th in all-around. 

Samantha Hileman-Dudas tied for 26th in beam and 26th in floor.

Evelyn Lerner 21st in vault, 17th in bars and 21st in floor.
