Reid Health’s Patient Financial Services employees are moving from their downtown Richmond office just before construction begins nearby on a new apartment complex.

After seeing the office building listed for sale for $1.4 million, WWN asked Reid Health about the future of its employees who work with patients on financial services.

Reid officials confirmed that its patient financial services team will relocate from its current four-story office at 600 E. Main St. to other Reid locations by the end of 2024.

Most of the team will move to Reid’s North Complex facility on Chester Road in Richmond.

Some employees will move to an office on Reid’s main campus at 1100 Reid Parkway that will provide customer relations for patient financial services, such as paying bills.

More information about that location and operational hours will be available soon.

“This move does not affect staff models and is intended to provide a more convenient location for patients who utilize our financial services,” Reid officials said.

The 34,000-square-foot office, casually called “The 600 Building,” was built 100 years ago and in recent decades contained Richmond’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch.

Its across-the-street neighbor, the former Elder-Beerman store, is to be demolished before Thanksgiving. Apartments will be built on that site.
