Reid Health Community Engagement has awarded 19 organizations a total of $100,000 during its first 2025 grant cycle.
The focus during this grant cycle is mental, emotional and behavioral well-being by improving mental health and reducing substance misuse, according to a news release. Funded organizations serve Fayette, Franklin, Henry, Randolph, Union and Wayne counties, plus Darke and Preble counties in Ohio.
“It’s clear our communities aren’t just identifying challenges but actively working toward solutions,” said Jess Przybysz, director of community health and engagement at Reid. “By aligning funding with the most pressing health indicators, we’re investing in programs that can positively impact lives.”
Organizations funded during the first grant cycle include:
- A Better Life: Brianna’s Hope – Richmond Chapter, $2,680 for program and meeting supplies and a computer for recovery meetings.
- Birth to Five Inc., $7,000 for its Parents As Teachers program.
- Bridges for Life, $9,000 for supplies, client needs, and transportation program expenses.
- Brighter Path Inc., $3,000 to provide scholarships for equine assisted therapy sessions.
- Communities In Schools of Wayne County, $5,000 for employee loss and healing training and for site coordination.
- Dublin Community Club, $3,600 for vape detectors.
- Girls Inc. of Wayne County, $7,000 for the after-school program.
- JACY House, $3,750 for parenting workshops.
- Mount Zion Baptist Church, $7,500 for its Rise, Reform, Recover program.
- Preble County Art Association, $5,000 for its essential humans program.
- Preble County Council on Aging Inc., $5,000 for home delivered meals.
- Recovery Rocks Club Inc., $5,000 for recovery groups and meetings.
- Servants at Work, $5,000 to build and install home ramps.
- Soldiers in the Army of the Lord Ministries Corp., $4,270 for Freedom House programming.
- Start with Art Ltd., $5,000 for mental health and substance misuse programming.
- Stayin Alive, $7,200 for Recovery Café space fees, program materials, and speaker fees for lunch-and-learns.
- Independent Living Center of Eastern Indiana, $5,000 for ramp installation and prefabricated, recyclable, or reuseable ramps.
- The Shepherds Way Christian Ministries (Cross Road Recovery Center for Women), $5,000 for a part-time case manager to provide one-on-one services helping women develop skills during their recovery.
- Whole Family Community Initiative Inc., (House of Ruth), $5,000 for weekly counseling for women in the program.
The application period for the second grant cycle focusing on physical activity, nutrition and weight closed May 9. The application period for the third cycle aimed at maternal, infant and children’s health will be July 14 to Aug. 8. More information is online.
