The Richmond volleyball team hosted an eight-team invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5. The tournament was divided into two pools of four teams. Richmond opened pool play in the north division by defeating Borden 2-1 with set scores of 25-13, 23-25 and 15-11. They then defeated Milan 2-0 with set scores of 25-18 and 26-24 before defeating Greenwood Christian Academy 2-1 with set scores of 25-23, 19-25 and 15-12, thus advancing to the title match against south division winner New Palestine. New Pal defeated Seton Catholic, Winchester and Purdue Polytechnic to advance to the title match. In the title match, New Pal improved to 26-2 on the season by defeating Richmond 2-1 with set scores of 25-8, 23-25 and 15-6. 

Seton Catholic captured third place. The Cardinals dropped their first match in division play to eventual champion New Pal (2-0) with set scores of 14-25 and 16-25. The Cards defeated Purdue Polytechnic 2-0 with set scores of 25-5 and 25-11 before avenging a regular-season loss by defeating Winchester 2-0 with set scores of 29-27 and 25-21. In the crossover game for third place the Cardinals defeated Borden 2-1 with set scores of 17-25, 25-17 and 15-3. 

Final team standings: (1) New Palestine,** (2) Richmond, (3) Seton Catholic**, (4) Borden, (5) Greenwood Christian Academy (6), Winchester, (7) Milan, (8) Purdue Polytechnic.
