Area organizations will acknowledge Earth Day, annually celebrated on April 22. Review area events below.

  • Wednesday, April 22: Earth Day Celebration, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Senior Recreation Center, 1600 S. Second St., Richmond. Vendors, activities and a luncheon. Recycle non-clothing items. First 200 attendees will receive free trees.
  • Wednesday, April 22: Grab & Go Earth Day, 2-4 p.m. at Family Resource Center, 714 N. 12th St., Richmond. Free Earth Day inspired flower pot kit while supplies last.
  • Friday, April 24: Arbor Day Hike, 6 p.m. at Hayes Arboretum, 801 Elks Road, Richmond.
  • Saturday, April 25: Free Spring Shred Day, 8-10 a.m. at Wayne Bank, 500 S. A St., Richmond. Free on-site document shredding. Limit five boxes per person. No binders, cardboard or binder clips.
  • Saturday, April 25: Family Earth Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Earlham College, 801 National Road W., Richmond. Featuring activities for all ages. Animal show at 11:30 a.m. Sponsored by Alpek Polyester and Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
