The Hagerstown Little League All Stars World Series team will be welcomed by a hometown parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27.
The parade will begin at Hagerstown Elementary School (299 N. Sycamore St.), continue west down Main Street and then all the way to the Little League park at 15940 Turnpike Road.
Main Street will not have parking from Sycamore to Pearl streets until the conclusion of the parade. Tedco at 303 W. Main St. is allowing parking in its lot for those who wish to leave their vehicles there and walk to the park.
Parade organizers say the players — and the town — captured the hearts of America as the team won its first round in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, before falling out of competition Tuesday.
The 11- and 12-year-old boys will sign autographs at the park.
Because of limited parking, celebrants are encouraged to bring their bikes and sneakers for the mile hike.
Ample street parking will be available in the town of 1,700 that will welcome the baseball stars back home. Shops and restaurants will be open to serve Hagerstown’s hospitality to visitors who join in the festivities.
For more information about the parade, call (765) 914-5657.
