Michael “Bull” Durham, 71, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Born on March 16, 1954, in Connersville, Michael lived a life defined by hard work, deep faith and unwavering devotion to his family. Known affectionately as “Bull” to those who loved him, he graduated from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City in 1972 before attending Purdue University and Ivy Tech Community College. Bull grew up playing baseball and football up until college where he played intramural at Purdue University. He spent his career as a skilled plumber and took great pride in his trade still providing guidance to those who needed it.
Beyond his work, Michael was a passionate comic book collector, a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. Even as a young kid Mike would carefully read and store his comics preserving them for decades to come. A man of Christian faith, he carried his beliefs quietly but firmly, always striving to treat others with kindness and integrity.
Michael’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family — especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Durham; his sons Adam (Holly) Durham, Steven (Nichole) Durham and Logan Durham; his cherished grandchildren; his sister Beverly (Tim) Ripberger; and a number of nieces, nephews and family members who will forever remember his strength, humor and warmth.
A memorial service will be held in Indiana at a later date, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy.
