Linda Lou (Bicknell) Cross, 87, formerly of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor.
Born February 28, 1938, in New Castle, Indiana, she was the daughter of Cecil and Doris (Higbee) Bicknell. Linda was a 1955 graduate of Cadiz High School. In 1970, she married the love of her life, Ronald Cross, and together they shared many wonderful years of marriage.
Linda served as a payroll specialist at Fort Benjamin Harrison before dedicating herself to her family as a full-time homemaker. She was an avid reader and had a deep love for country music and Nascar. One of her greatest joys was going out to eat with her family, where she often ordered her favorite—New York strip steak.
A devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Linda’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her children, Bart Bicknell, Ronda (Reggie) Davis, Robert Cross, Kelly Bicknell and Betsy (Jay) Davis; six grandchildren, Stacey (Mark) Clancy, Chandler Cross, Khrystal Bicknell, Amity (Matt) Davis, Josh (Kristin) Morris and Devon Laymon-Davis; six great-grandchildren, Lexi and Carter, Kristopher and Alex, Braylee and Braxton; and her sister, Carol McDougall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; her brother, Richard Bicknell; and a daughter-in-law, Gloria Bicknell.
A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on October 25, 2025, at 500 West Event Center, 500 West Main St., Hagerstown.
