Harriett Ann Marquis, 82, of Boston, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 2, 1942, in Portland, Indiana, to Louis and Zora Green.
Harriett was spunky and loved to laugh. She was employed with the United States Postal Service as Postmaster for the Boston Post Office for several years where she became known as the “Queen of Boston.” She genuinely enjoyed her job and looked forward to visiting with the town’s residents every day. Harriett also served on the Boston Town Board as their clerk-treasurer.
She is survived by her children, Pattie Maiden, Carol Bufford, Connie (Dean) Lewis, Dean (Tina) Fellers and nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Harriett was preceded in death by her husband Daniel (Danny); her parents; two brothers, Bill and Cloris Green; son, Ronald (Ron) Fellers; two sons-in-law, Bobby Maiden and Terry Bufford; and two grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In her memory, contributions may be sent to the Boston Fire Department, PO Box 27, Boston, IN 47324.
