William H. “Bill” Ott, 75, of Centerville, passed away at home on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
He was born in Brookville, IN, on September 15, 1947, to Henry W. and Anna Lee (Brewer) Ott.
Bill graduated from Brookville H.S. in 1965, received his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Cumberland College in 1970 and later received his Master’s degree from Xavier University.
He taught at several schools before coming to Western Wayne Schools in 1988, where he was a teacher, administrator and coached basketball, baseball, golf and track. Bill was proud of his service in the Army National Guard from 1971 – 1973 and was a member of Milton Christian Church.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol (Hadler) whom he married on June 21, 2001; his children, Brad Ott, Amy Ott, Sarah (Brandon) Pennington and Stephanie (Ray) Scanlon; seven grandchildren and two sisters, Pamela (Emery) Kozak and Glema Jennings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Randy Jennings and Leroy Banks.
Friends called from 3 until 7 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023, and from 10 a.m. until the start of his funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Scott Moistner officiating.
