Thurnia R. Rogers, Sr., age 83, of New Castle, died peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
He was born on September 22, 1939 in Bourne, Kentucky to Alfred and Katherine (Raines) Rogers.
Survivors include his four children, Thurnia (Jessica) Rogers of Hagerstown, Tatia (David) Sheppard of West Seneca, NY, Travis (Michelle) Rogers of Carmel, IN and Trenton (Mandy) Rogers of Longview, WA;. eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Joy Kollock, Mary, Barker, Audrey House, and Velma Calvin; three brothers, Stanley, Steve and Bruce Rogers and a granddaughter, Whitney Rogers.
Per the request of Thurnia Sr., a private service will be held with only close family members present.
A celebration of life to honor Thurnia’s memory will be held at a future date.
