Marjorie (Grieves) Shelton, age 79, of New Castle passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at her home. She was born June 6, 1943, in Peoria, IL to the late John A. Grieves & Velma Louise (Kimberlin) Tucker.
Marjorie married the love of her life Robert Shelton in 1989 and enjoyed several years of marriage until his passing in 2015. She was a long-time cook for the Blue Moon in Losantville & Barb’s in New Castle. She was a founding member of the Moorland Lions Club. She enjoyed her time at the casino playing the slot machines, scratching lottery tickets, and playing skip-bo. She enjoyed her lottery tickets so much that they were a regular Christmas gift for the grandkids. Marjorie could be found every year at the Mooreland Fair playing her favorite game, the “Quarter Dozer”. More than anything, her time with her family was something she cherished most.
Marjorie is survived by her children Penny Penticuff & Eddie (Ellie Russell) Rhyndress: 7 grandchildren; Matthew (Aimee) Penticuff, Doris (Kenese) Jenkins, James (Keena) Penticuff II, Amber (Arty) Pickens, Brad Rhyndress, Tony (Kaylee) Rhyndress & Cassie Rhyndress: 11 great grandchildren; Adisun, Camron, Jocelynn, Lennyn, Christian, Nichelle, Frank, Skyler, Landyn, Zaylor & Cartyr: sister Marlene Sexton as we all several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family also survive.
Marjorie is proceeded in death by her parents listed above, husband Robert Shelton, sister Darlene Gard, son-in-law Jim Penticuff & step-father Paul Tucker.
