On November 12, 2023, our loving Lord welcomed home Marilyn Sue McKechnie, age 88. She was born on October 29, 1935 in Campbellsburg, Indiana to the parents of Wilma & Robert Wade. Following a move to New Castle, she became a big sister to Lee Ann (Wade) Wallen. Despite their 10 year age difference, they shared a close sisterly bond witnessed by many.
A Spiceland High School graduate, she met and married a handsome and funny man, William David McKechnie. They shared 52 years together and are survived by their children, Michele McKechnie, Kelly Hull (Brady), Kay Bond, Jon McKechnie, 5 Grandchildren, Weston, Taylor, Paige, Ann Grace, Easton and 1 Great Grandchild, Perry.
Marilyn was never one to pass on finding garage sales, antique stores, historical markers and museums. She was a master gardener, home decorator and loved making her famous fudge.
She will be buried at South Mound Cemetery followed by a private celebration of life ceremony.
