Karen Thomas, age 77, of New Castle, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ripley County, Indiana to the late Raymond & Edith (Young) Hardebeck.
Karen was a lively soul and enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved her family more than anything. Her life revolved around attending their sporting events and school activities. She could almost always be found watching the Andy Griffith show and could usually say the lines of the show before the cast themselves. Old westerns were something enjoyed watching very much, especially Walker Texas Ranger and Gun Smoke. Game shows and playing bingo were things she could regularly be found doing. More than anything she enjoyed her time with her precious family who she loved dearly.
Karen is survived by her children; Johnny Thomas and Jessica Thompson: 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family survive.
Karen is proceeded in death by her parents listed above, 3 children; Louie Thomas, Lisa Watson, Cindy Edmondson: 6 siblings and grandchildren Heather Edmondson & Ivan Adams as well as several extended family members.
Visitation for Karen will take place on Tuesday November 21, 2023, from 4:00 ~ 7:00 PM at Rose City Funeral Home 2011 Broad St in New Castle. Funeral services will take place at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
