Jeannie C. Aldrich, 94, of Connersville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Reid Health, Richmond.
She was born January 25, 1929 in Greensburg, Indiana to Cloyd “Casey” and Fannie Ayers Long.
On October 23, 1947, she married Roy Aldrich in Greensburg. Mr. Aldrich survives.
Jeannie was a devoted homemaker. Outside of the home, Jeannie and Roy worked as custodians at Park Place Church of God where they were members. Active in her church, Jeannie also taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
She was a member of the Missionary Society and had been at one time a Brownie Scout Leader.
In her leisure, Jeannie enjoyed gardening and working outside. She loved birds. An excellent baker, she was known for making delicious pies.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Roy Aldrich; four children, Thomas (Regina) Aldrich, Cheryl (Ted) Rath, Carol (Stephen Michael) McDonald, and Karen (Joe) Word; twelve grandchildren, Tammy (Dwayne) Jackson, Tim (Patricia) Aldrich, Kevin (Amandia) Aldrich, Seth (Tiffany) Johnson, April (Nick) Ernstes, Holly (Greg) Tisdale, Valerie (Nathan) Whisman, Sean Michael Mcdonald I, Amanda (Brian) Davis, Martha Mae Word, Priscilla (Travis) Lawhead, and Tabitha Word; 23 great grandchildren, Garrett (Sara), Carter, and Eva Jackson, Cheyeanna, Aleah, Amber, and Megan Aldrich, Paige and Jared Ernstes, Nicholas Jr. and Jacob Wilhelm, Raina and River Lawhead, William McDonald, Max, Zoe, and Sebastian Davis, Sean Michael McDonald II and Savannah McDonald, Zanub, Abbas, and Nadia Al-Saedy, and Avaristo Whisman; four great-great grandchildren, Oaklee Jackson, Ryet and Zaryah Aldrich, and Caden McDonald; a step great grandson, Ali Alsaedy and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Mary Jean Wilhelm; a brother, Harlan Long; and a sister, Alice Conover.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Ferreira officiating. Burial will be in Star Baptist Cemetery in Greensburg, Indiana.
