Jackie Lee Ridge, age 92, of Greens Fork, Indiana, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Friends Fellowship.
Born August 9, 1930, in New Castle, Indiana, to Florence B. and Elsie M. Pickett Ridge, Jackie was a life-long resident of this area. He was a graduate of Greens Fork High School. He served in the U. S. Army and was a contractor for more than 42 years. Jackie excelled in sports and was scouted by the Cincinnati Reds before entering the U S. Army. He was an avid IU basketball and Cleveland Browns fan. Jackie was inducted into the Nettle Creek Athletic Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Carolyn Ridge; daughter, Lynn (Pete) Stiens of Richmond, Indiana; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Pegg; and brother, James E. Ridge.
Graveside Service will be Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Greens Fork South Cemetery with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
