Earl Wesley Polson, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, died Thursday, January 5, 2023, at home.
Born September 23, 1930, in New Castle, Indiana, to Clyde Polson and Alice Polson Haney, Earl lived in Richmond most of his life. He was a veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean War as a Sargeant and was a decorated Sharpshooter. For 30 years he worked as a TV repairman at Sears, and then went on to work at IU East, retiring after 10 years of service. Earl served on the Centerville Police Department Reserves, was a member of the Wayne County REACT Club, and volunteered for Wayne County Emergency Management. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, taking trips, photography, and animals. Earl’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Debbie (Paul) Stevermer of Seneca, South Carolina, Susan (Frank) Cervone of Kettering, Ohio, Katrina (David) Ray of Beech Grove, Indiana, Danny (Debbie) Dalbey of Eddyville, Kentucky, Suzi Lawson of Richmond, Sandy (Dale) Palmer of Richmond, and Robert (Jessica) Dalbey of Richmond; daughter-in-law, Peggy Dalbey of Richmond; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Judy Blevins of Norman, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Patricia A. Polson; mother, Alice (Don) Haney; father, Clyde Polson; son, Larry Dalbey; son-in-law, Larry Lawson; sister, Betty Stone; and brother, Eugene Polson.
Visitation for Earl Wesley Polson will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor John Maples officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
